• latince, zorluklardan gecerek yıldızlara ulasmak manasına gelir. klasik latincenin fonetik ve konvansiyonal kullanımına daha uygun olan versiyonu ad astra per aspera 'dır. bu yapısal olarak daha dogru versiyonu a.b.d.'nin kansas eyaletinin ve rotoura lisesi'nin motto su olmustur. aynı deyisin bir variantı da per ardua ad astra olup manası aynıdır, fakat zordull tanımlamak icin aspera yerine ardua kullanılmıstır. per ardua ad astra 'da robert x. cringley 'nin ailesinin motto sudur. temelde aynı manaya gelen bir de ad augusta per angusta vardır ki bu da çaba aracılığı ile başarı anlamına gelir ve ontario lakehead üniversitesinin motto sudur.
