• londra'da son üç yıldır gerçekleştirilen oldukça ilginç bir deneysel / çağdaş müzik etkinliği (hatta festivali?). amaç, yeni teknolojiler vasıtasıyla canlı müzik yapan sanatçıların çalışmalarını tanıtmak.
  
  ilk kez 2002 yılında yapılan ether, jeff mills'in ünlü bilimkurgu klasiği metropolis'e soundtrack dj'liği yapması, matthew herbert'in 1 mayıs gününe denk gelmiş garip bir protest konseri gibi şaşırtıcı etkinlikler içermiş. 2003 yılında da yine daha önceden yapılmamış çapta gösteriler vardı programda, mesela ünlü london sinfonietta orkestrası tarafından aphex twin, boards of canada ve squarepusher'ın eserlerinin "analog" olarak çalınması, yine matthew herbert'in ama bu sefer big band'i ^* ile birlikte bir konser vermesi gibi.
  
  ether'in programı bu sene de dopdolu (dersem, en azından coğrafi sebeplerden pek reklam sayılmaz herhalde), zira londra'nın ünlü performans merkezi royal festival hall'da gerçekleştirilen ether bu yıl geçen iki yılı kat kat geride bırakacak çok deli dolu bir programla karşımızda:
  
  bu sene ether, 6 -18 mart^* tarihleri arasında gerçekleşecek 6 gösteriden oluşuyor. aşağıda tam programı verdim ama biraz highlight yapacak olursak, ilk önemli gösteri purgatorio, tangerine dream tarafından 1911 yapımı dante's inferno filmine canlı soundtrack yapılacak^*. sonra 12 martta london sinfonietta geçen seneki gibi bir konser daha verecek, ancak bu sefer orkestraya jamie lidell ve squarepusher da eşlik edecek. son olarak da daha şimdiden biletleri tükenmiş olan bir kraftwerk konseri var 18 martta! yani uzun lafın kısası kaçırılmaması gereken bir etkinlik.
