• siyah ve beyaz olmak üzere iki döneme ayrilabilecek top gear efsanesi.
  
  durum şudur ki; 2002'den(ki tahminen 20 kasım olmalı ilk tanıtıldığı program) kasim 2003'e kadar stig hep siyah giyinmiştir. bu stig'in perry mccarthy olduğu iddia edilir.
  
  kasım 2003deki programda; top gear tuned bir jaguar ile bir uçak gemisinden uçması siyah stig'in program için ölümüdür. bu noktadan sonra stig hep beyaz giyinmeye başlar.
  
  beyaz stig ise duruma göre değişen bir karakterdir kanımca. yani bazen collin mcrae bazen damon hill bazen heikki kovalainen bazen de başka biri olmalidir.
  
  ama hakkinda bilinenler jeremy clarksonun kendisini takdim ederken "some say" diye başladığı cümlelerdir. bazilari ise şu şekildedir:
