• türkçe'de ikisi için de et kelimesi kullanılmasına rağmen ingilizce'de yemek için kullanılan ete meat, insan ve hayvanların iskelet sisteminin üzerini kaplayan kas ve yağ dokusuna ve hatta meyvelerin çekirdeği ile kabuk arasında kalan (ki bizim yine et dediğimiz kısımdır), yemek için uygun olan kısma flesh denir.
